1. What is 'accelerated learning'?

Accelerated learning, also known as suggestopedia or superlearning, is a method of learning gearing to the way the brain works. Accelerated learning works conform to the brain`s structure because it approaches both two parts of the brain during a learning sequence. Participants learn by seeing, hearing and with their whole bodies.

Essential building blocks of accelerated learning are

1. Learning in relaxation. In a relaxed atmosphere, we learn best. With accelerated learning, normally a relaxation is performed with the participants at the beginning and the end of the day. In the course of these relaxing phases the day will be prepared and integrated.

2. Activation of participants. Participants work out the subject matter from texts and educational games on their own. The trainer will only give short impulses.

3. Working on de-suggestion. Every participant has build up his own barriers against learning during the course of his life. It is the trainer`s job to recognise and deconstruct these barriers. This will go unnoticed by the participants and is, in my opinion, the true core of
accelerated learning.

4. The layout of the workshop room. In a pleasant atmosphere, participants can relax easier and thus learn more effectively. Whether it was a training about methods of management methods or MS-Project-trainings, participants put their new knowledge into practice directly after the workshops. What can be more delightful for a trainer?
